Plan your home cinema conversation

Note how you use the room, who will watch, the seating and screen you have in mind, and any equipment you already own. A room photo is optional.

Bring your preferences, not a finished layout

The images below are design concepts to help explain seating preferences. They are not completed projects or templates for your room.

You can share a room photo if it is available, or describe what you would like to discuss. The quote should list the agreed room work and each equipment item.

Start with how you use the room

Will the room be mainly for films, or do you also use it for everyday seating? Note how many people usually watch and what you would like to keep or change.

We measure the room and discuss a layout for the screen and seating. You do not need to estimate a layout from a design image.

Compare rows of seats with your own needs

This concept shows rows of light and green seats with side tables facing a screen. Use it to explain the seating style you like, not as a plan for your room.

Share the number of seats you want to discuss and any furniture you already have. The actual arrangement is considered for the measured room.

Talk through the way people enter and sit

A central aisle separates two groups of seats in this design concept. Point out the room entrance and how people use the seating so the arrangement can be discussed for your room.

The image is a visual reference only. It does not show a measured aisle, required clearance, or a layout that will fit every room.

List the screen and equipment you want to discuss

Note whether you are considering a screen or projector, speakers and chairs, and list anything you already own. Mention the type or quantity you have in mind if you know it.

This concept combines sofas and separate seats facing a screen. It can help you describe the room style you like; it does not confirm that these items or any equipment are included.

Check each item in the written quote

Ask for the room work and any equipment to be listed clearly. For equipment, check the type, quantity and price for each item; do not assume a package is included unless it is written in the agreed scope.

The fixed price for the agreed work is written in the contract before work begins. Review the listed room work, equipment and exclusions before agreeing.

Questions before discussing a home cinema

What should I share before discussing a home cinema?

Tell us how you use the room, how many people usually watch, what seating you want to discuss, and which screen or equipment you already have. A room photo is optional.

Are the screen, speakers and chairs automatically included?

Screen or projector, speakers and chairs can be discussed as choices. Ask for the type, quantity and price of each item to be listed in the quote; do not assume a package is included.

Can I discuss equipment I already own?

Yes. Share the details you have so they can be considered in the room discussion. Compatibility, setup or installation is not assumed; ask for any agreed work to be written in the quote.

Do the design images show what my room will look like?

No. They are design concepts for discussing preferences. They do not establish room dimensions, materials, equipment, or completed work.
