This guide explains what happens in a bathroom renovation, from your first message to handover, and what decides the price.

The stages of a bathroom renovation
A full bathroom renovation follows a clear order:
- Measuring: we measure the bathroom ourselves.
- Design and agreement: you choose the layout, tiles and fittings with us, and we write the work and price in the contract.
- Removal: we remove the old tiles and fittings as agreed.
- Waterproofing and plumbing: we prepare the waterproofing and the water and drainage lines.
- Tiles and fittings: we install the tiles, basin, toilet and other items in the quote.
- Review and handover: you check the bathroom against the design before the last payment.
The order matters. Waterproofing and plumbing come before tiles, and lighting positions are fixed before the electrical work. Mistakes here are hard to fix once the finishes are on.
Why waterproofing matters
If water gets under the tiles, it is hard to repair without breaking the new tiles. Waterproofing is a layer under the tiles on the floor and in the shower area that stops water reaching the floor and walls beneath.
That is why your supervisor sends you photos of the waterproofing and plumbing before the tiles cover them.
Plumbing: what to check
We review the old plumbing first and write what needs changing in the quote. In a full renovation, the pipes are exposed once the tiles come off, which is a good time to review them. Moving the shower or basin adds to the work.
Tiles, lighting and ventilation
For the floor, choose tiles that are not slippery when wet; for the walls, tiles that are easy to clean. Larger tiles mean fewer joints to keep clean, and light colours make a small bathroom look larger.
Plan ceiling lighting plus lighting at the mirror at face level, because light from above alone leaves shadows on the face.
Moisture that stays in a bathroom causes mould and peeling paint. A bathroom without a window needs an extractor fan that takes air outside, placed near the shower.
Small bathrooms and master bathrooms
A small bathroom becomes more practical through design, not only space. Wall-hung fittings leave the floor visible, a glass shower instead of a bathtub saves space, and a wall niche replaces shelves that stick out.
A master bathroom usually fits more items, such as a bathtub, a glass shower and a double basin, so it needs a design that shares the space between them, with planned lighting and finer details.

What decides the price?
The price depends on the size of the bathroom, the work needed, and the materials and fittings you choose. Three questions shape it:
- Do you want to change the whole bathroom, or only part of it?
- Will the basin and toilet stay where they are?
- What type of tiles and fittings do you want?
We measure the bathroom, then give you a written price for the agreed work. The quote lists the work and fittings, so you see what the price includes before you agree.
Living at home during the work
Whether you can stay at home depends on the work and on having another bathroom. We arrange this with you before we start.
We cover the floors and corridors from the front door to the bathroom, separate the bathroom with a barrier that limits dust, take waste out in closed bags, and work at times agreed with you.
In apartments, you usually need approval from building management or the landlord before removal work. Ask them before we start.
Who does the work and who follows up
Our own team does the work under the company's supervision, with no subcontractors. One supervisor, whose name and number you have, follows up with you and sends you photos of the work every day on WhatsApp.
The last payment comes after you check the bathroom against the agreed design. There is a written warranty on workmanship and installation, according to the contract.
