Plan your majlis around the way you use it

Before discussing a layout, note who uses the majlis, how many guests usually gather, and which current seating or furniture you want to keep. Add how guests enter and receive hospitality, then list the wall, ceiling and lighting work you want considered.

Start with your gathering and what should stay

The majlis service discusses room measurement and seating placement, with wall, ceiling and lighting requests described in the quote. Use this guide to prepare the details you want to discuss.

Describe the gatherings and usual guest count

Think about who uses the majlis and the gatherings it needs to support. Share the number of guests you usually expect and whether you are planning one majlis or more than one.

Tell us the number of people you want to seat. This is information for discussing your request, not a seat-capacity promise based on a photo.

Say which seating and furniture should stay

List the seating or other furniture you want to keep, change or discuss. If you have current photos or size notes, share them so the requested layout can be reviewed around the pieces you already own.

The design concept from Villa Design post 5 is one visual idea, not a template for your room. Its visible seating arrangement does not establish the dimensions or fit of your furniture.

Explain how guests enter and receive hospitality

Note the entrance and windows, how guests reach the seating, and where serving should take place. These details help frame the layout discussion around how you use the room.

Share the room information you already have. Do not assume that circulation or seating distances can be taken from a concept image.

List the wall, ceiling and lighting work you want to discuss

The majlis decor service covers seating placement, ceiling design and lighting, and wall painting or a finish you choose. List the items you want considered so the requested work can be described in the quote.

If you also want sofas or upholstery, raise that separately. They are not automatically included; agree what can be offered and have it stated in the quote.

Bring your notes to the quote discussion

Gather your usual guest count, the seating you want to retain or change, room photos if available, and any entrance, window, wall, ceiling or lighting requests. You can also share whether you want to discuss one majlis or both.

The fixed price for agreed work is written in the contract before work starts, and additions are discussed beforehand. Review the requested work and any furniture-related items in the quote.

Questions to prepare before discussing your majlis

Can I keep my current seating?

Yes. Tell the team which seating you want to keep or change. Current photos and size notes can help explain the request.

Are sofas or upholstery automatically included?

No automatic inclusion is stated. If you want sofas or upholstery, mention them so the available scope can be agreed and written in the quote.

Can I request decor for both a men’s and women’s majlis?

You can request decor for both. Describe the work for each so the agreed scope is clear in the quote.

What should I share before discussing the layout?

Share your usual guest count, which existing seating should stay, how guests enter and receive hospitality, and the wall, ceiling or lighting requests you want considered. Room photos are helpful if available.
